My stay at this resort spa was truly delightful! The serene environment offered a fantastic escape with stunning views and exceptional dining. The room had a private onsen which made the experience even more special. The only downside was the steep walk from the train station, but the complimentary pickup made it easier. Overall, it was a perfect blend of relaxation and luxury.

The resort is beautifully remote, nestled in the mountains with charming streams and waterfalls nearby, making it feel like a hidden gem. However, the steep path from the train station can be challenging.

8.4/10

My stay at the resort was truly enjoyable, thanks to the serene atmosphere and stunning views. The rooms were spacious and came with a private onsen, which was heavenly. The dining experience was exceptional, especially the exquisite kaiseki dinner. However, I found the absence of Western breakfast options a bit limiting, and the property does show some signs of age. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway for relaxation and enjoying nature.

8.2/10

This hotel offers a quiet and serene experience, with the luxury of private onsens and delicious, health-conscious dining. The rooms exude a charming, albeit dated vibe. Although the service was nice, some amenities were lacking, and the isolated location means you need to plan for food outside of meal times.

Rooms

We had a spacious room with a private onsen, which was divine. However, the decor felt a bit dated, though it still had its charm.
Service
8.0
Service was pleasant and accommodating, especially with the pickup from the train station.
Location
7.0
The hotel is situated in a beautifully quiet area, but it is a steep walk from the station, so asking for pickup is a smart move.
Dining
9.0
The dining experience was impressive, especially the kaiseki dinner which boasted fresh and healthy ingredients, though the breakfast options were limited to Japanese cuisine.
Facilities

The private onsens are a highlight, and while there are no public baths, the chartered baths available provide great convenience.

The ryokan provided a wonderfully serene experience with a private onsen and beautifully presented meals. The quiet country atmosphere was a delight, although the dated rooms and limited dining options could use some improvement. Also, the location is somewhat isolated, which can make access challenging without prior planning.

Rooms
7.0
We had a spacious room with our own private onsen, offering a stunning view of the mountains. However, the room felt a bit dated.
Service
7.0
While the hotel offered a courtesy ride from the train station, the overall level of service was adequate but nothing spectacular.
Location
6.0
The location is very quiet and set in a beautiful natural environment, but it's not very convenient as it requires a bit of effort to reach, especially with luggage.
Dining
8.0
The dinner was exceptional, a delightful kaiseki meal loaded with fresh vegetables. Breakfast options were limited, primarily focusing on Japanese cuisine.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had several private onsens available for rent, which were a nice touch, but some areas could use modernization.

Our stay was quite enjoyable, thanks to the tranquil country atmosphere and the luxurious private onsen. The dinner was a highlight, beautifully presented in our own room, and the large rooms added to the experience. However, we encountered some dated room features and a lack of flexibility with breakfast options, which could be improved. Overall, it’s a lovely ryokan, but be prepared for some minor quirks.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were spacious but in need of a refresh. The private in-room hot spring bath was a wonderful addition.
Service
8.0
Service was accommodating, and I appreciated having a traditional yukata for dinner.
Location
6.0
Nestled in a quiet area, it was a bit isolated but picturesque. The steep path from the train station with luggage was a challenge.
Dining
8.0
Dinner was exceptional, but the limited breakfast options didn’t appeal to everyone in our group.
Facilities
7.0
The private onsens and room amenities were a great plus, though some facilities felt dated.
